The older kids got hit with a stomach bug last week. Caleb on Tuesday and Hannah on
Saturday. And while it wasn’t any
fun, I must say, my hubby stepped up and made it so much easier for me than it
could have been. Both kids had
their roughest hours through the night, and T took sick kid duty both
times. He is pretty great like
that.
We had a fun day trip planned to my family’s farm for
Sunday, so the boys and I left T and Hannah behind since she was still pretty
ill. That was really sad for all
of us.
All of my siblings were
home and we also got to see both great-grandmas and some cousins.
There was lots of baby holding.
And lots of outdoor play.
Caleb enjoyed having a bit more of the spotlight without
Hannah around, but he was also a bit lost with out her to lead the way.
It is always great to get time with my brother since he
lives in Texas and we don’t see him all that often. He is pretty great (even if he is a bit awkward holding the
newborn Hadley). And what was even
greater was that he had a girl there with him! That’s a big deal!
It’s never happened before.
And it was really fun. They
are “just friends” for now, but I sure wouldn’t be complaining if things grew
more serious. J
Family time is good for the soul.
We are all relatively healthy now and even enjoyed a special
outing yesterday. Over the years, I’ve
heard bits and pieces about a certain county owned nature park area, and we
decided to check it out. Running in the grass, throwing rocks and wading in the river, eating mulberries, chasing butterflies, and viewing a tadpole were all part of the experience. It was
really fun and the kids loved “exploring”. Hannah was even the adventurous one, wanting to walk out
across the rocks in the creek. You
should check out my friend’s photos of the outing on her blog to get a better
glimpse of our time.
And this is what resulted as we drove home.
Exploring is hard work!

carmen your comment made my day today! thank you SO MUCH! your sissy looks so cute in her headband! i love that you found something in my little area. it's definitely quirky mindy-style so some people don't know what to do with it. hehe.

I was just going to say that looks like a Mindy Harris/Marigold Road headband from the Cottage! Also, your bro makes you look SHORT! I would like a hobbit next to him. :) Glad you had fun with your family!
Love that picture in the van! We had a similar experience. Aliza was out. Josie was staring off into space. Which of course is not the norm. Malia just had her nose in a book so I had a quiet ride too. :) Loved being with you all.
