Easter Weekend

Easter was extra special this year with Hannah beginning to understand bits of the story.
I loved talking with her about Jesus' death and resurrection and hearing the sweet questions that evoked.

And of course, we decorated Easter eggs too.
We tried this technique from Family Fun magazine and had lots of fun with it.
That is, until Caleb took a dive off one of the kitchen chairs.
He konked his head real good, and both kids were crying hysterically.
It took a while to settle them both down, but the egg decorating continued.

After the eggs cooled, we dyed them.
This was our end result!

On Saturday of Easter weekend, we headed to my parents' home.
My whole family was there which hasn't happened in more than a year, so that was definitely the highlight.
This little guy loved being outside on the farm.
So much to explore!

He loved the dogs too!
And they loved him...maybe a bit too much.

Following a big noon meal, we dyed Easter eggs again.
Caleb was very into it.

We started Sunday morning back at home with reading from The Jesus Storybook Bible and then hunting for Easter baskets.

And we ended the day with a picnic (and some rock throwing) at our local state lake.
T and I hadn't really been out there since college and it's only a few miles from our home!
